Today's craft is just the cutest! Get ready for fall and plan to make this with your kiddos after reading your favorite apple book!

This is easy enough to do with some toddlers, preschoolers and even younger school aged kids. Don't limit yourself to just red apples, be sure to add some green, yellow or even pink to make this painting craft even more fun!

The supplies are simple and you may even have them already at home in your craft stash.

What supplies do you need?

• Large white paper plate
• Paint Brush
• Red craft paint
• Glue (or hot glue gun)
• Scissors
• Brown construction paper
• Green construction paper
• Green pipe cleaner
• Optional: strong tape

Helpful tips:

• try construction paper instead of paper plates for the apples

• turn this into a pumpkin craft with orange paint

• use green ribbon instead of pipe cleaners for the stem (just glue onto the plate in a loop shape like a leaf)

• use scrapbook paper or felt for the leaf or stem instead of construction paper

Apple Paper Plate Painting Craft

materials:

• Large white paper plate
• Paint Brush
• Red craft paint
• Glue (or hot glue gun)
• Scissors
• Brown construction paper
• Green construction paper
• Green pipe cleaner
• Optional: strong tape

steps:

1. Paint the paper plate red. Set aside to dry. Once dry, apply another coat if desired. Set aside to dry completely.
2. Cut a brown stem out of the brown construction paper.
3. Turn the paper plate over to the back and glue the stem on. Allow to dry.
4. Cut a green leaf out of the green construction paper.
5. Turn the paper plate over to the front and glue the leaf next to the stem.
6. Cut the pipe cleaner into a 4 inch piece. Twirl the pipe cleaner around your finger to shape the stem.
7. Turn the paper plate to the back and glue the pipe cleaner to the back. Once dry, you can use a strong piece of tape to make sure the pipe cleaner stays secure on the paper plate.
